Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators came two outs away from their second no-hitter of the season, and shut out the Portland Sea Dogs 3-0 on Monday night at Hadlock Field in Portland. Aaron Thompson, Jack Spradlin, Adam Carr, and Zech Zinicola combined to pitch the one-hitter.

Zinicola gave up the Sea Dogs' only hit, a double from Anthony Rizzo with one out in the ninth inning, but still picked up his eighth save. Thompson (4-9) threw the first six innings, struck out six, and earned the win. Spradlin relieved him and pitched an inning and a third, and Adam Carr recorded the final two outs of the eighth.

The Senators (37-40) scored their three runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, getting one run in each. Chris Marrero scored Brad Coon on an RBI groundout in both the fifth and seventh innings, and Jhonatan Solano doubled in Edgardo Baez in the sixth.

Jeremy Kehrt (1-4) took the loss for Portland (38-37), despite allowing just one unearned run in five innings of work. The Sea Dogs' pitchers gave up ten hits to the Sens, including two apiece from Baez, Danny Espinosa, and Marvin Lowrance. Solano, Coon, Jesus Valdez, and Michael Martinez each had one hit.

The Senators and Sea Dogs square off again Tuesday night at 7 PM, again at Hadlock Field. Left-hander Tom Milone (5-3, 3.14) is set to pitch for the Sens, against RHP Stephen Fife (4-1, 3.84) of Portland.
