LAKEWOOD, NJ - Making his BlueClaws debut, Nick Rodesky threw a scoreless ninth inning, getting Rafael Bautista to hit into a 4-6-3 game-ending double play as the BlueClaws topped Hagerstown 6-4 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park.
The BlueClaws (21-34/48-76) have won the first two games of this series after entering on a five-game losing streak. They pounded out 15 hits in the game led by three from Andrew Knapp and Willians Astudillo.
Rodesky, who signed with the Phillies from the Trindad (CO) Triggers of the independent Pecos League in July, followed Jesen Therrien, who threw two scoreless innings of relief. The two both joined the BlueClaws yesterday. Julio Reyes (3-4) threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.
Hagerstown (35-20/79-46) took a 2-0 second inning lead on a two-run double by Wilman Rodriguez. The BlueClaws answered with four runs in a six-hit second inning that included RBIs from Mitch Walding, Malquin Canelo, Carlos Tocci, and Andrew Pullin.
The Suns tied the game with two in the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Carlos Lopez and a SAC fly by Wilman Rodriguez. Walding added a SAC fly in the bottom of the 4th to give the BlueClaws back the lead.
