Legends Weekend Includes Head-Shaving, Autograph Session

Tonight's game at Whitaker Bank Ballpark will be followed by a demonstration of support for the fight against childhood cancers. Legends' President/COO Andy Shea and catcher Chad Johnson will have their heads shaved as a sign of solidarity with young cancer victims and their families. Johnson is involved in fund-raising through a Vs. Cancer web page . Game time is 7:05 p.m. as the Legends take on the West Virginia Power, and the head-shaving will take place on the field in front of the Legends' dugout after the game.

Saturday from noon to 1 p.m., the entire Legends team and coaching staff will be at Fayette Mall near Dillard's to meet with fans and sign autographs. Fans are welcome to bring their own items to be autographed, and the 2014 Legends baseball card sets, including uncut sheets, will be available for purchase. The Legends and Power will play at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. A Ford Fireworks show will follow the game.

Saturday is also Hearing Loss Awareness Night. Representatives of Bluegrass Hearing Clinic will be at the ballpark to provide information and assistance, and will give away 5,000 disposable earplugs.

Sunday, a Latin Heritage celebration will feature the Kentucky Salsa All-Stars and will honor the cultural contributions of the Latin community. The Cardinal Valley Folk Dance Group will also perform. Radio Vida, 1440 AM, will provide a play-by-play broadcast of the Legends' game in Spanish. Game time is 2:05 p.m. as the Legends and Power wrap up a four-game series.
