Asheville Tourists News Release

Asheville, NC--Correlle Prime made himself known to the Augusta GreenJackets on Friday night, just in case if he wasn't known before. The Asheville Tourists first-baseman clubbed two Home Runs, one a Grand Slam, en route to a four-hit evening with six runs batted in. All of that offense helped the Tourists cruise to a 10-2 win over the GreenJackets.

Johendi Jiminian worked six solid innings for the home team and recorded his 12th win of the season in the process. The right-hander scattered six hits and allowed just one run while striking out four. Prime gave the Tourists a 2-0 lead with a two-run blast over the centerfield wall in the fourth.

Asheville broke the game open in the fifth with a five-run frame. They loaded the bases with some help from a throwing error by Augusta's pitcher Christian Jones. Ryan McMahon was then hit by a Jones pitch to make it 3-0. The next batter, Prime, cleared the bases with a Grand Slam to center.

The visitors managed a run in the sixth and another in the eighth, but after Asheville's big fifth inning they never made it close. Ashley Graeter added the Tourists final three RBI's with a bases loaded walk in the seventh and a two run single in the eighth.

McMahon finished 3-for-3 with four runs scored and Jose Briceno also added three base hits. With the win, Asheville all but eliminated Augusta from playoff contention. The same two teams are back on the field on Saturday night beginning at 6:05pm.
