Rockets Win Third Straight, Top Americans

The Kelowna Rockets extended their win streak to three games with a 5-3 win over the Tri-City Americans on Monday at Prospera Place. Four different Rockets had multi-point afternoons, including first star Turner McMillen who posted a pair of goals. Jari Kykkanen made 26 saves on 29 shots to pick up his fourth victory of the season.

Jake Lee (14) put the puck into the net as it was going off of the posts after Colton Dach's short handed breakaway attempt was thwarted. After being reviewed, it was determined to be a good goal.

Former Rocket Ethan Ernst (10) tied things up in the opening seconds of the second period. Colton Dach (16) made a highlight-reel play between his legs in front of the Americans net. Turner McMillen (8) pushed the Rockets out to a two-goal lead before the end of the period. Both teams scored twice in the third period with Mark Liwiski (16) and McMillen (9) scoring for the Rockets and Samuel Huo (18) and Deagan McMillan (2) netting goals before the end of the game.

With the victory, Kelowna's record is now 29-12-1-3.

Kelowna was zero-for-four on the power play, while Tri-City was zero-for-two.

The Rockets registered a season-high 56 shot on net, outshooting the Americans 56-29.

Kelowna will be back in action on Friday night when they host the BC Division leading Kamloops Blazers at Prospera Place, puck drop is set for 7:05 pm.
