Kelowna Rockets battle the Everett Silvertips

The Kelowna Rockets fell 2-1 to the Everett Silvertips on Friday at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, WA.
Andrew Cristall, who took a puck up high in Tuesday's game against Tri-City, missed the Rockets game. Jari Kykkanen and Kayden Lognley also missed the game due to injuries. Marcus Pacheco, who has been out since training camp with a lower body injury, took warm ups as a game time decision but did not dress for the game.
Kelowna goaltender Jake Pilon was named the game's third star after stopping 37 of the 39 shots he faced.
The Rockets were unsuccessful on six power play opportunities, while their penalty kill shut down all five chances that the Silvertips had.
GAME SUMMARY
The Rockets started the game with two power play attempts after Austin Roest took back-to-back penalties before the midway point of the opening frame, the Silvertips were able to hold off the Rockets. Kelowna bobbled the puck attempting to exit the zone, Ben Hemmerling dished the puck off to Austin Roest (9) at the top of the left faceoff circle who skated through the slot and beat Jake Pilon with a backhand shot.
Ben Hemmerling (6) cut wide around Rockets defenceman Ismail Abougouche and drove to the Rockets net powering the puck past Pilon 7:57 into the third period. With the Rockets net empty, Hiroki Gojsic (4) broke Tyler Palmer's shutout bid with 32 seconds left in the game.

The Silvertips lead the four game season series 1-0, the two will face off next on January 24th at Prospera Place
UP NEXT
Kelowna will wrap up their road trip with games against the Victoria Royals on Monday and Tuesday.
The next Rockets home game is Saturday, November 18 when the Rockets will welcome the Prince George Cougars. That game will feature live music from the band Bush Party.
