Tigers Win 4th Straight in 4-1 Victory Over Wild

Medicine Hat, AB - Zach Zahara made 34 saves, while Oasiz Wiesblatt & Brett Calhoon had multi-point games all in part of the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild Saturday night.

In the opening frame, The Tigers would get a pair of early power plays but could not solve Wild starter Daniel Hauser, but it would be the home side opening the scoring as Kadon McCann (Cochrane, AB) would re-direct his third of the season at 10:18 to give the Tigers a 1-0. Bogdans Hodass (Jelgava, LAT) & Brett Calhoon (Oilver, BC) would don assists on the opening goal of the night.

Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) would get on the scoresheet next as the Tigers pushed their lead to 2-0 at 16:33. Where Calhoon would get his first multi-point game of the season with the lone assist.

Wenatchee would get a late goal in this 1st as Evan Friesen would notch his 8th on a shot from the slot beating Zach Zahara (Rockyview County, AB) with 21 seconds left to give the Tigers a one-goal lead to the 2nd period.

Medicine Hat would continue to persevere as Andrew Basha (Calgary, AB) on a 4-on-4 situation would shelf his 7th of the season and second goal of the weekend to get the Tigers again up by two at 4:43. Tomas Mrsic (Surrey, BC) would push the face-off win to Basha for the lone assist.

Hunter St.Martin (Edmonton, AB) would also add to the Medicine Hat lead 1:13 left in the 2nd with his 6th of the season from Wiesblatt making the lead 4-1 heading to the third.

Despite being outshot 35-29, for the first time this season the Tigers would have their first four-game winning streak of the year in a clean 4-1 victory over the Wild.

With the win the Tigers are tops in the Eastern Conference with a 13-5-2 record.
