Red Deer Rebels and Lava Rocket on game night

The Kelowna Rockets four-game win streak was snapped by the Central Divison leading Red Deer Rebels on Saturday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer, AB.
Red Deer came out with pace in the opening period, holding a commanding three-goal lead after the first 20 minutes of play. The Rebels and Rockets traded goals in the second frame, with Red Deer re-establishing their four-goal lead early in the third period.
Talyn Boyko allowed 5 goals on 25 shots, while Turner McMillen was the only Rocket to find the back of the net.
GAME SUMMARY
Ollie Josephson (4) scooped up the puck and skated out front of the net, beating Talyn Boyko with a backhand 2:42 into the game. Jace Weir (2) wired a wrist shot through traffic from the top of the right faceoff circle to put the Rebels up by two before the period's midway point. Ben King (14) added a power play goal.
Jace Isley (26) stretch the Rebels out to a four-goal lead, but less than a minute later Turner McMillen (8) one-timed a backhander past Kyle Kelsy to get the Rockets on the board.
Former Kamloops Blazer defenceman Mats Lindgren (9) restored the Rebels four-goal lead with their second power play goal of the game in the first minute of the third period.

Carson Golder was the game's first star, Dylan Wightman was the second and Talyn Boykowas the third star
Kelowna was 0/4 on the power play, while the Rebels were 2/4 on the man advantage
The Rockets record is now 21-31-3-0

Kelowna will wrap up their Alberta road trip tomorrow against the Calgary Hitmen at 3:00pm PT.
