NEWS & NOTES:

Last Game: The Wheat Kings and Pats went head to head in a back and fourth tilt which ended with Connor Bedard scoring the game winner with 1:55 remaining allowing the Pats to escape with a 4-3 win. The star of the game was Pats goaltender Drew Sim who stopped 44 of 47 shots earning first star. Wheat King forward Nate Danielson tied the game up at 3 with his 2nd point of the night but it wasn't enough. Final shots were 47-19 Wheat Kings.

Feb 25th VS Pats : The Wheat Kings & Pats conclude their two game weekend set with round two taking place inside the Brandt Centre in Regina. The last time these two clubs met in Regina was a 4-0 victory for the Wheat Kings back on December 28th. Leading the way was Brett Hyland with a multi point evening and Carson Bjarnason stopping every shot he faced. Saturday night will be the fifth matchup between the two clubs with March 15th set as the sixth and final meeting between the Wheat Kings and Pats this season.

Canada Winter Games: There are several Wheat Kings participating in the U16 Tournament in the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island this month. Wheat Kings prospects participating include Joby Baumuller & Emerson Clark (Team Saskatchewan), Easton Odut (Team Manitoba) then Gradey Hope & Ryder Green (Team British Columbia). Leading the way is Wheat Kings Top Prospect Joby Baumuller with 5 goals and 4 assists in 5 games played. Baumuller led Team Saskatchewan to a perfect 4-0 in the preliminary round and he scored a pair of goals in Friday night's semi-final against Team Quebec in a 4-3 win.. Team Saskatchewan is set to play in the final with Team Ontario Saturday night.

Who's Hot: Brett Hyland currently has 19 goals scored in his last 21 games. Forward Nate Danielson has been stellar as of late scoring 10 points in his last 7 games. Danielson is also on a 7 game point streak.. Nolan Ritchie has 44 points in his last 34 games.
