
Rockers Earn Big Win to Improve to 10-7 in Second Half

Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Green Bay Rockers beat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders Tuesday night, 8-6, at Capital Credit Union Park.
The Dock Spiders took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning, after Evan Smith hit a solo home run to right, then Andrew Sojka singled home Andrew Rivas.
Green Bay responded with one in the bottom of the second when Matt Scannell hit a solo home run.
The Rockers poured it on in the third when they scored five runs on six hits, all either home runs or singles. Griffin Stevens hit a two-run home run; two batters later, Keniel de Leon hit a two-run shot; then, JP Gauthier went back-to-back with de Leon.
In the fifth, Scannell hit his second home run of the game to make it 7-2.
The Dock Spiders scored once in the seventh on a fielding error by Chase Hudson to cut it to a four-run game, but Scannell responded with his third home run to make it a five-run game again.
The Dock Spiders made it 8-6 in the ninth when Bennett Thompson hit a three-run home run to cut the lead to two. Jaxon Meyer entered the game to earn a one-out save and secure Green Bay's win.
The Rockers head to Mequon Wednesday for a doubleheader against the Chinooks. Will Semb starts game one for Green Bay, and Semb has won his last three decisions and is second among Great Lakes pitchers in strikeouts.
Game one's first pitch is set for 11:35 a.m.; game two for 6:35 p.m. at Kapco Park.
