Bismarck Larks News Release
The Larks dropped both games of the annual day/night doubleheader to the Waterloo Bucks, 9-3 and 6-5.
The early game was presented by Basin Electric, who helped pack the ballpark with over 600 kids for Energy Education Day. In game two, the Larks celebrated the official winner of the LASIK promotion, presented by Dakota Eye Institute.
In the first game, the Bucks saw three home runs. Two of the three came from former Bismarck Bull Moose outfielder Liam Critchett (Loyola Marymount) who finished three-for-four with three RBIs. Kurt Koerper (University of Washington) also sent a ball over the wall and ended the first game with two RBIs.
In the second, the Larks led for eight of the nine innings until the Bucks put three runs on the board in the top of the ninth. Five of the nine batters for Waterloo finished with RBIs including Clayton Gray (Austin Peay State) who drove in the go ahead run in the ninth on an RBI single.
Larks infielder showed his base running prowess when he scored from first on a flyout to right field, the Fetzer Electric Play of the Game from game two. Barraza's run gave the Larks an early run in game two.
On the mound, Larks game two starter Joshua Alpough (Montevallo) delivered the Metro Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch of the Game at 89 mph. His strong start - five strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched, went for naught as the Bucks tied up the game after he left the game.
The Larks are back in action for the series finale against the Waterloo Bucks tomorrow, with first pitch set for 6:35 PM. Catch the game on the exclusive streaming partner of the Northwoods League, ESPN+. Wednesday is the Larks FINAL Caves Win-It Wednesday of the season and also presented by Hot 97.5.
