
Roanoke's Jaffray Named CCM East Coast Hockey League Rookie of the Month for December

PRINCETON, N.J. - Roanoke Express left wing Jason Jaffray is the CCM East Coast Hockey League Rookie of the Month for December. Jaffray becomes the first player ever to win the award twice having won it in November after finishing as runner up in October.
In 13 games in December, the 21-year-old Jaffray tied for the team lead with seven goals, nine assists and 16 points. Selected as a starter for the Northern Conference in the 2003 Compuware/ECHL All-Star Game, Jaffray led the Express with 24 points (11g-13a) in November and leads the team with 22 goals and 49 points in 34 games.
Under contract to Norfolk of the American Hockey League, Jaffray leads ECHL rookies with 22 goals, 27 assists and 49 points in 34 games and is tied for second among rookies with seven power-play goals. His 22 goals tie him for second among all ECHL players while his 49 points are third.
The 6-1 and 204-pound Jaffray has scored a point in 28 of his first 34 professional games, including a pair of 10-game scoring streaks, and Roanoke is 17-10-0 in games that he scores a point and 19-13-2 overall. Jaffray had three two-goal games in December giving him a total of five multiple-goal games and he has had 10 multiple-point games. Roanoke is 5-0 when Jaffray scores more than one goal and 10-0-0 when he scores more than one point.
