Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC: The Greenville Road Warriors are inviting the community to join them in saluting local active and retired members of the military as well as police, fire and other first responders. The team will honor our local Warriors at Warrior Appreciation Night presented by Lockheed Martin, on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Bons Secours Wellness Arena.
"This is a night to recognize and give back to the many men and women that keep our great city safe," said Road Warriors General Manager Chris Lewis. "Warrior Appreciation Night is about saluting the people that put their lives on the line in order to ensure our wellbeing. We've got a number of great things planned that are both a tribute to our local Warriors as well as a fun treat for our fans. We appreciate what these brave men and women do every day and thank Lockheed Martin for its tremendous support of the night."
All active and retired members of the U.S. military as well as local police officers, fire fighters, and other first responders can purchase tickets to the game at a special discounted rate. Discounted tickets start as low as $5 and can be purchased at the arena Box Office any time leading up to the game. Fans must show proof of service in order to receive the discounted rate.
The Road Warriors are also offering a unique opportunity for fans to give back to Warriors in the community, by helping them come to the game for free. Fans and corporations can purchase tickets to the game to be donated through the Road Warriors to local military and first responder groups.
The Road Warriors will wear special Warrior Appreciation Night camouflage jerseys for the game. After the game, the game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Upstate Warrior Solution, the Harold C. Jennings Foundation, and the Rama Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Before the game, the Road Warriors are hosting a touch-a-truck event outside on the Plaza. Fans can look at, take pictures with and interact with a SWAT truck, an ambulance, K-9 Unit, a fire truck, an Army Humvee, and Military Jeeps. The Smoke House, which demonstrates the proper way to escape a fire, will also be on hand for fans to enjoy.
