Alaska's Brossoit Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Laurent Brossoit of the Alaska Aces is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 2.

The 20-year-old went 2-0-0 with two shutouts last week, helping the Aces to a three-game sweep of Bakersfield as the club improved to 7-1-0 on the season.

Brossoit made his Aces' debut late in Alaska's 6-3 win on Friday, stopping all eight shots he faced in six minutes of action. In his first start on Saturday, he turned aside all 16 shots he faced in a 5-0 win and on Sunday, made 16 more saves in a 4-0 victory.

A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Brossoit made his pro debut earlier this season with Abbotsford of the American Hockey League.

Selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round (164th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Brossoit appeared in 147 games with Edmonton of the Western Hockey League from 2008-13, posting an overall record of 88-34-9 with 10 shutouts, a 2.59 goals-against average and a save percentage of .909.

Runners Up: Rob Madore, Cincinnati (3-0-0, 2.27 GAA, .924 save pct.) and Jeff Jakaitis, South Carolina (3-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .929 save pct.).
