ECHL Announces Fine, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Tuesday announced the following fine and suspensions.

Greenville's Berkstresser suspended one additional game

Greenville's Sean Berkstresser has been suspended for one additional game as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #48, Greenville at Elmira, on Nov. 1.

Berkstresser is suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline. He missed Greenville's game at Wheeling on Nov. 2 and will miss Greenville's game against South Carolina on Nov. 7.

Florida's Nielsen fined, suspended

Florida's Carl Nielsen has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #59, Florida at Orlando, on Nov. 2.

Nielsen was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing under Rule #50.5 at 4:54 of the first period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Nielsen will miss Florida's game against Elmira on Nov. 6.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
