
Road Warriors' Four-Game Win Streak Snapped, Fall 5-2

Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors fell to the Wheeling Nailers by a score of 5-2 after allowing three goals in the third period on Friday night.
The first period started with the Nailers scoring four minutes into the game. Max MacKay fired a wrist shot past Jeff Malcolm for his seventh of the year. The Road Warriors evened the scored when Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored three minutes later off a pass from Jordie Johnston. Vallerand scored his tenth of the year. With three minutes left in the period, Mackay scored his second goal of the night to put Wheeling up by one going into the second period.
The Road Warriors tied the game at two with 5:47 left in the second period. Vallerand cut to the net and scored over the blocker of Mike Condon for his second goal of the game. Sam Noreau and Sam Klassen assisted on the goal. Malcolm kept the game tied at two saving all 16 shots faced in the period.
Wheeling scored 4:25 into the third period when Chaz Johnson collected a shorthanded goal to give Wheeling a 3-2 lead. With three minutes left in the game, the Nailers scored with Jacob Lagace adding a power play goal off a pass from Mike Ratchuk. Wheeling solidified the lead when Cody Sylvester scored a short-handed goal on an empty net. With this goal, Wheeling defeated the Road Warriors 5-3.
The Road Warriors are back in action tomorrow night when they host the Wheeling Nailers for the final game of the two game series. Puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
