FORT WAYNE, Ind. - January 17, 2014 - The Elmira Jackals' short jaunt through the North Division wraps up tonight with their first visit of the season to Memorial Coliseum to take on the Fort Wayne Komets. It is Elmira's first game here since December 29, 2012.

WHEN: 8:05 p.m.

The Jackals are facing the Komets tonight for the third of seven meetings this season, and first of two at Memorial Coliseum. The Jackals are 2-0-0 against the Komets this season (0-0-0 on the road) after back-to-back wins in Elmira on December 6 and 8. The Jackals and Komets have linked up twice off the ice this season for a pair of trades. Elmira got Nick Tuzzolino for Jordon Southorn on November 25 and then Mike Vaskivuo and Nik Pokulok on January 6 for Matt Carter and Christian Ouellet. Tonight is just Elmira's second visit to Fort Wayne since the former UHL rivals both arrived in the ECHL. Elmira lost a wild 6-5 decision at Fort Wayne in the final minute last December 29. Kyle Bushee had a career night that night with three points (2G, 1A). Elmira is 4-1-0 overall against the Komets since 2012.

There are some teams the Jackals need to leap over to make it happen, but their task is to chase down Reading and Fort Wayne for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. The month of January gives Elmira a golden chance to reel those teams in because, including last weekend's games, nine of Elmira's 11 games from 1/10 to 1/31 are against the Komets (5) and Royals (4). The Jackals are a combined 4-5-1 against Reading and Fort Wayne in the wake of last week's action.
