Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Orlando, FL: The Road Warriors could not create another comeback in Orlando as the Solar Bears held on to win 3-2.
C.J. Severyn scored the first goal of the game with 5:08 left in the first period on a one-on-one play. He stopped in the slot to provide some separation and beat Nathan Lieuwen over the shoulder for his 13th of the year.
The second period started off with another Orlando goal extending their lead to 2-0. Rob Mignardi shot in a rebound created by Dan Gendur for his seventh of the year. Bretton Stamler scored the first goal for the Road Warriors with a shot from the boards. His fourth of the year brought the game to a 2-1 score. Brendan Connolly was credited with the assist to bring his point streak to 11 games. Danny Hobbs also assisted to continue his assist streak to four games. Brandon Wong was injured halfway through the second and did not return.
The third period began with a Road Warriors' goal just 1:54 in. Chad Ziegler scored his first as a Road Warrior with a quick shot along the boards to tie the game at two. Just 26 seconds later, Dan Dries would score the final goal of the night for a 3-2 Orlando victory. Patrick Killeen was the winning goalie with 31 saves. Nathan Lieuwen was the losing goalie with 24 saves.
