Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (2/1/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday morning that the Idaho Steelheads have added forward Mike Towns and goaltender Grant Rollheiser to the roster. Both are with the team and expected to be in the lineup Friday night when Idaho plays at Stockton.
Towns attended training camp with the Steelheads in October, netting a goal in a pre-season game. He made the opening-day roster and appeared in Idaho's first game against Utah on October 12, picking up a fighting major, before being released the next week. He has spent most of the season since then with Denver of the Central Hockey League. He had three points (one goal, two assists) and 60 penalty minutes in 34 games before being promoted back to the ECHL.
Rollheiser, 23, is a first-year pro out of Boston University. He played 19 games with Utah earlier this season, going 7-8-3 with a shutout. He started against Idaho on December 19, stopping 36 of 38 Steelhead shots in a 4-2 Grizzlies victory. He attended Prospects Camp with the Dallas Stars last summer and was invited to AHL training camp by the Abbotsford Heat before joining the Grizzlies. Rollheiser (ROLL-high-sir) was a part of Boston University's 2009 NCAA National Championship team.
Idaho's next game is Friday, February 1, at Stockton. The team returns home on February 6 to host Utah.
