Road Continues to Haunt Hitmen

Regina, SK - Playing their fourth game in five nights, all on the road, the Calgary Hitmen fell 4-1 to the Pats in Regina on Saturday night at Brandt Centre.

Connor Bedard led the way for the Pats with a pair of goals his 36th and 37th of the season. His second tally was a huge momentum boost, finding the back of the net with seven seconds left in the middle frame to open up a 3-1 lead. Neithan Salame and Cole Dubinsky also hit the scoresheet for the home side.

Rookie forward Anton Yatsyshin, with his fourth goal of the season, was the Calgary marksman.

Final shots were 36-20 Regina as goaltender Brayden Peters finished with 32 saves for the Hitmen while Drew Sim counted 19 stops for the Pats.

Despite the loss, Calgary wins the season series 4-2, outscoring the Pats 24-22.

The Hitmen will now enjoy a two-day break before their season long seven-game road trip resumes on Tuesday, March 15 in Winnipeg against the ICE. Calgary will then make stops in Brandon (Mar. 16), Edmonton (Mar. 18) and Medicine Hat (Mar. 26).

Calgary won't return to Scotiabank Saddledome until Sunday, March 27 to host the Swift Current Broncos. The 2:00 p.m. start is the Every Child Matters game dedicated to Indigenous youth empowerment through sport and a celebration of the Blackfoot culture. It's presented by Siksika Health Services in partnership with the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary, Okaki, and the Blackfoot Confederacy.
