
Pats Wrap up Homestand against Hitmen

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (21-27-3-1) host the Calgary Hitmen (20-27-6-2) as they wrap up their four game homestand on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.
The Pats are coming off a massive 4-3 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday, improving to 2-1-1 in the month of March. The Pats once had a 3-1 lead, which lasted until midway through the second period, but Braxton Whitehead's late goal proved to be the winner, as the Pats found a way to hold onto the victory.
Connor Bedard (1G-1A), Cole Dubinsky (1G-1A), Logan Nijhoff (2A) and Whitehead (1G-1A) finished with multi-point games, while Matthew Kieper made his first start since February 6th, stopping 21 of 24 for his 15 win of the season. Zack Stringer returned from injury and scored for a third straight game.
The Final shots were 24-22 for the Hurricanes, while the Pats went 1-2 on their power play and 3-5 on the penalty kill.
For the Hitmen, they are coming off a 5-2 loss to Moose Jaw last night, extending their losing-streak to five straight, having been outscored 22-to-6 during that time. They are in the third game of their eight game road trip which ends on Saturday, March 26th in Brandon. The Hitmen are currently tied for eighth with 48 points, just two points ahead of the Pats in the Eastern Conference Standings.

HEADLINES
The Pats have 16 games remaining in their regular season schedule, with six at home and 10 on the road, all coming in the next 37 days before the season ends on Sunday, April 17th against Moose Jaw at home...of those 16 remaining games, six more will also be against teams the Pats are chasing in the standings (Lethbridge 1x, Calgary 1x, Swift Current 2x, and Prince Albert 2x).
Connor Bedard is riding a 16 game point-streak (15G-18A-33PTS), which is the longest active point-streak in the WHL, and T-3rd longest total streak...Tanner Howe & Bedard hold the longest point-streaks by Pats 16-year-olds since 1996-97 (Prev; Eberle, 8 games in 2006-07).
