NEWS AND NOTES
Resetting the Streaks...Sunday's shutout at the hands of the Manitoba Moose stopped all active streaks the Rivermen had on the stat sheet. It ended their three-game winning streak, their five-straight home games without a regulation loss, Steve Regier's seven-game point streak (7g, 4a) and Chris Conner's five-game point streak (4g, 2a). It marked the first time this season that the Rivermen did not score a power-play goal.
Milestones...Friday's game was the 750th regular season game in the professional career of Trent Whitfield and he is now just three points shy of 500 career points. Steve Regier appeared in his 300th AHL game on Sunday.
Welcome Woywitka...Jeff Woywitka has appeared in only four games for the Rivermen this season but he already has five assists (tied for second most on the team). Last year he notched 20 assists in 52 games (more than any Rivermen that appeared in fewer than 69 contests).
It's all the same...Out of the first 10 games of the season, the Rivermen have scored the first goal in five of the games. They have gone 2-2-1 in those games and 3-2-0 in games when they have to play from behind. Last season, the Rivs scored first in 37 of 80 games and went 23-10-1-3 (.676 winning percentage).
