Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose extended their winning streak to eight-games last week by winning all four games and outscored their opponents 28-10. This is the first time in team history the Moose have won their first four road games of the season. This season's winning streak is the longest early season extended winning streak the Moose have ever had since they won 10 in a row beginning on Oct. 18/00, with their fifth game of the season. Cory Schneider earned his first shut out of the season against Peoria on Sunday.
Wednesday, October 29, 2008: Manitoba 4, Quad City 2

Friday, October 31, 2008: Manitoba 2, Rockford 1
The Manitoba Moose didn't need to dress up for Halloween to scare the Rockford Icedogs, as two-quick goals would do the trick and earn Manitoba a 2-1 victory on October 31st. This victory stretches Manitoba's winning-streak to six consecutive games, registering four at home and two on the road. In the season's first meeting between the two clubs, goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 19 shots for his fifth win and Moose rookie Guillaume Desbiens notched the game-winner on his third shot of the night.

Sunday, November 3, 2008: Manitoba 4, Peoria 0
A late first period goal courtesy of Jason Jaffray would also prove to be the game winner, as the Manitoba Moose shut-out the Peoria Rivermen 4-0, lengthening their winning-streak to eight consecutive games. Michel Ouellet and Captain Mike Keane were responsible for Manitoba's additional two goals while Cory Schneider blocked 27 shots for his first shut-out of the season as the Moose swept their first "three-games-in-three-nights- series this season.
Moose Notes
Capitalizing on the Empty Net: So far this season, the Moose have scored six empty-net goals. Michel Ouellet, Jason Jaffray, Guillaume Desbiens, Darryl Bootland and Michael Grabner have all added insurance with a shot on an empty net in the third period of play. This total after only ten games is already half of the total recorded by the Moose all of last season, where they scored 12 empty-net goals in the entire season.
Lucky Number Eight: After dropping their first two games of the season to Hamilton, Manitoba has won eight consecutive games, as well as sweeping their first four game road trip. This is the first time in history that the Moose have started 4/0 on the road. Last season, the Moose tied a franchise record by winning 10 games in a row from Mar. 2 - Mar. 25/08. This season's winning streak is the longest early season extended winning streak the Moose have ever had since they won 10 in a row beginning on Oct. 18/00, in their fifth game of the season.
November Beginnings: November 1st game against Quad City marked the first of 11 games in the 11th month for the Moose, and the club hopes to keep their November numbers on par with the club's history. The Moose earned 12 of 22 (6-3-2-0) possible points in 2007-08, 15 of 24 (6-3-2-1) possible points in 2006-07 and 21 of 32 (9-4-1-2) possible points in 2005-06 - their best ever November finish in Moose AHL history. In fact, since joining the AHL, the Moose have never finished below .500 during the month of November.
Sweeping 3-in-3: The Moose swept their first three-in-three series of the season last week, the first of five they will face this season. The last time the Moose swept a three-in-three was last season when they beat Hamilton, Toronto and then Hamilton again from Mar. 7-9/08. This was the only sweep recorded last season. In Moose AHL history, the club has never swept more than one three-in-three series in a single season.
Upcoming Opponent
The Manitoba Moose have a week to rest before they visit the Americans in Rochester on Friday, November 7th and Monday, November 10th. The Rochester series is split with a match-up against the Syracuse Crunch, who enter the week two-points shy of Manitoba for second in the North Division, on Saturday, November 8th.
