March 14, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria, IL (March 14, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that the Rivermen have signed goaltender Gregg Naumenko (now-MEHN-koh) to an American Hockey League (AHL) standard player contract. McDonald also detailed the Peoria club's 22-player "Clear Day" roster.
Naumenko, 28, joins the Rivermen in his seventh professional season. The 6-2, 200-pound netminder has thus far this season been a member of the Chicago Wolves (3 games), the Portland Pirates (7 games), the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (0 games), and the Albany River Rats (6 games) of the AHL, in addition to making six appearances in the ECHL for the Dayton Bombers. During his professional career, Naumenko has also played in the AHL for the Cleveland Barons and the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, with whom he made his professional debut in 1999-2000. The Chicago native appeared in two National Hockey League (NHL) tilts for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during the 2000-01 season.
