
Rivermen Sign Hutt

Peoria, Ill. (December 4, 2003) â Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that rookie defenseman Malcolm Hutt has been signed. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hutt â a 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman â notched four points (2g, 2a) in six games for Wilfrid Laurier University of Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS). The 21-year-old native of Wellesly, Ontario enjoyed a four-year Major Junior "A" career with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), collecting 103 points (17g, 86a) with 165 penalty minutes (PIM) over four seasons (1999-2003). He was a teammate of Rivermen forward Randy Rowe from 1999-2001 with Belleville.
The Rivermen travel to Johnstown, Pa. for two road games on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 against the division rival Chiefs. They are the first two of eight matchups between the clubs this year. Game times are 6:00 p.m. CT.
On Sunday, December 7, the Rivermen host the Cincinnati Cyclones on the first of seven Journal Star/Insight Media Kids Days. Kids 12 and Under receive a $2 Upper Bowl Admission. Dora The Explorer will also appear courtesy of Nickelodeon. There will be $2.50 Kids Meals, which include a hot dog, chips, soda and a Tyler Rennette player card (available in the first 1,000 meals).
