Express Forward Carlson Called Up

ROANOKE, VA – Roanoke Express center Dan Carlson has been called up to the American Hockey League's Lowell Lock Monsters, it was announced today by Express Head Coach Tony MacAulay. Carlson leaves the Express leading the team in points, and second overall in the ECHL scoring race.

The 24-year-old native of Edina, Minnesota has collected a team-high 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) in 19 games. Carlson is also tied for second on the team with four power play goals and leads the team with three game winning goals.

In his second season with the Express, the former standout at Notre Dame University has compiled a total 106 points in 91 games in a Roanoke uniform. Last season Carlson played in all 72 Express games and finished fourth on the team with 78 points (35g-43a).

This is Carlson's second trip to the AHL in his three-year professional career, having played in eight games with the St. John Flames in 2001-02. Carlson will join the Lock Monsters today.
