Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska winger Charles Linglet has been honored by the ECHL as its CCM Rookie of the Month for November.

The 21-year-old Linglet thrived in a busy month for the Aces, racking up seven goals and 15 assists in 16 games as Alaska managed an 8-7-1 record over a brutal stretch of games and took over the top spot in the Pacific Division earlier this week. He scored two goals, including the game-winner, to go along with an assist in a pivotal game against Idaho on November 21 and registered the equalizer with 6.4 seconds left in regulation at San Diego November 25, allowing the Aces to earn a point on the road against one of the expected Pacific favorites.

Linglet also performed at the defensive end, as evidenced by his team-best +11 rating during November. He enjoyed a multi-point night in seven of the team's 16 games and finished +2 or better six times. The 6-2, 212-pound Montreal native tops all ECHL rookies and sits in a tie for second overall in scoring with 29 points (10g-19a) on the year, three behind league leader Brian McCullough of Florida.

Linglet attended training camp in Providence (AHL) before reporting to Anchorage. He enjoyed an impressive four-year career in juniors with Baie-Comeau in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Linglet's four-year totals included 108 goals and 152 assists for 260 points in 253 games.

The Aces currently reside in first place in the Pacific Division, courtesy of a four-game winning streak and a 14-8-1 overall record. Alaska returns to action Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in San Diego, where the Gulls first will have to deal with the Charlotte Checkers Friday and Saturday. All Alaska Aces games are broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM and at www.alaskaaces.com, with Jack Michaels calling the play-by-play. Coverage begins 20 minutes prior to the opening face-off, presented by GCI.
