Peoria, Ill. (March 2, 2007) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today the team's 22-man American Hockey League Clear Day roster.

According to AHL by-laws, only those players listed on a team's Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the AHL regular season and in the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts after Clear Day, but only once their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

There are five veterans on the Clear Day roster - defenseman Jamie Rivers, center Trent Whitfield, center Gavin Morgan, right wing Rocky Thompson and newly-acquired right wing Peter Ferraro. The other 15 skaters include: defensemen Aaron MacKenzie, Mike Stuart, rookie Roman Polak, Tomas Mojzis, Doug Lynch, Zack Fitzgerald, and forwards Jon DiSalvatore, Yan Stastny, Charles Linglet, Michal Birner, Mike Glumac, Cam Keith, Ryan Ramsay, rookie David Backes and D.J. King. Rookie Marek Schwarz and Jason Bacashihua are the two goaltenders.

Because of recalls and injuries, goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu, defenseman Patrick Wellar and forwards Kevin Croxton and Hans Benson are currently in residence with the team.

On Saturday, March 3, the Rivermen host the Houston Aeros at 7:00 p.m. in the first of two in a row between the clubs at Carver Arena. It is Peoria Air National Guard Team Poster Night for the first 5,000 fans. There's also a St. Patrick's Day Celebration, presented by Kelleher's Irish Pub, and the team will wear special St. Patrick's Day jerseys to be auctioned off after the game. On Sunday, March 4, the teams will do battle again at 4:00 p.m. It is an Insight Family Day with four (4) tickets, four (4) Cokes, four (4) hot dogs and four (4) bags of Kitchen Cooked chips for just $38. U.S. Cellular's 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time continues with Trevor Baker player cards to the first 2,500 fans; Baker will also appear and sign autographs.
