Sharks sign Josh Prudden to AHL contract

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed center Josh Prudden to an AHL contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Prudden began the season with the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL. After 13 games, he was signed to a PTO with the Worcester Sharks. The Andover, Mass. native has had two stints with Sharks this season.

In 36 games with the Sharks, the gritty center has notched three goals and added 16 assists for 19 points. Prudden's plus-ten player rating is good for second on the team behind defenseman Brennan Evans.

In his two year career, Prudden has totaled 112 AHL games, tallying 12 goals and 28, all as a member of the San Jose Sharks AHL affiliate.

Tonight, at 8:00 p.m., the Sharks take on the Providence Bruins following the Special Olympics Massachusetts Opening Ceremonies to the Winter Games. Team Teal is looking for their fourth consecutive win.

Saturday night, the Sharks will face-off against the Norfolk Admirals for a 7:00 p.m. game. The first 3,000 fans will receive a FINZ First Season Collectors Bobblehead doll.

The Sharks will wrap-up a five-game homestand on Sunday evening when they host the Springfield Falcons at 4:00 p.m. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Mathieu Darche Autographed Collectors Card. Following the game, their will be a post game fireworks display presented by WXLO.

In related news, the Worcester Sharks have release their clear day roster, which consists of 22 players. Only those players listed on the Sharks Clear Day Roster are eligible to compete in the remaining AHL regular season and in the 2007 Calder Cup playoffs, unless emergency conditions occur. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, only after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.
