Manitoba Moose News Release

Today, the Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced their finalized clear day roster that was submitted prior to the American Hockey League deadline on Thursday, March 1st at 3:00 ET.

According to AHL by-laws, only those 22 players (20 skaters and two goalies) listed on a team's Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remaining five weeks of the 2006-07 AHL regular season and in the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, only after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.

The complete list of Clear Day rosters can be found on theahl.com.

The Moose made one move prior to the deadline. They dealt defenseman Reagan Rome to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in exchange for future considerations. Rome appeared in seven games with the Moose this season and recorded one assist and two penalty minutes. The Nesbitt, MB native has also played in 29 games with the Reading Royals of the ECHL where he has 11 assists and 109 penalty minutes.

Sixteen of the AHL's 27 teams qualify for the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs, the top four from each division. If the fifth-place team in the West Division finishes with more points than the fourth-place team in the North Division, it would cross over and compete in the North Division playoffs.
