Beloit Sky Carp News Release

The River Bandits scored five runs in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach Friday night, en route to their 11-4 pounding of the Snappers. Henry Reyes picked up the loss for the Snaps, going four innings and allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits.

After scoring one in the top of the first inning to take the lead, the River Bandits scored twice more in both the third and fourth innings to take control. The back-to-back, two-run innings put Quad Cities up 5-0 after three and a half.

Beloit finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning on a fielding error from River Bandit left fielder D'Marcus Ingram. Ingram's error allowed Yangervis Solarte, who earlier doubled, to score from second base. Solarte's run put the Snaps on the board, but still behind, 5-1.

Quad Cities then exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh to take a commanding 10-1 lead. Home runs from Carlos Pupo (two-run) and Domnit Bolivar (three-run) off reliever Danny Hernandez pushed the River Bandits ahead even further.

The Snappers tried to battle back, scoring two runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth, but it was still too much to overcome. Beloit fell in the final game of the three-game set by an 11-4 final.

Greg Yersich was a bright spot for Beloit, going 3-for4 with a run and an RBI. Greg and the Snappers fell to 28-26 in the second half with the loss.
