TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Hampshire Fisher Cats will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning; however, Richmond came up a run short as the Fisher Cats held on to a 7-6, series-opening win on Tuesday night in front of 7,364 fans at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Left-hander Chuck Lofgren will get the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Making his third start with the Flying Squirrels and his sixth start of the season... TAKING A HIT: Flying Squirrels pitching matched a season-high by allowing three home runs in last night's 7-6 loss to the Fisher Cats including back-to-back home runs hit by Yan Gomes and Jonathan Diaz with two outs in the top of the eighth inning...It was fourth time this season that the pitching staff has allowed multiple home runs in an inning and the first time this year that the club has given up back-to-back long balls...Overall, Richmond has allowed 66 home runs this season - second-fewest in the Eastern League...The team has allowed 34 of its 66 home runs at The Diamond...Additionally, the Flying Squirrels allowed five runs or more for the 34th time this season and the club fell to 7-27 when allowing five runs or more...Richmond is 53-22 when allowing four runs or less this season.

THE WILD WES: First baseman Wes Hodges went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a runs scored last night...The 26-year-old has matched his longest hitting streak of the season with hits in eight straight contests...He also had hits in eight straight from 4/25 to 5/15 while with Triple-A Columbus...Over his last eight contests, Hodges is 17-for-32 (.531) with three doubles, a home run, five RBIs and four runs scored, and he multi-hit games in seven of the eight contests...Over his last 18 games, he is batting .441 (30-for-68) with six doubles, three home runs, 11 RBIs, and 11 runs scored...The former Cleveland Indians farm hand is batting .400 (34-for-85) in 21 games on the road including all six of his home runs...He is hitting .243 (18-for-74) with seven doubles and a triple in 23 games at The Diamond.

ROGER THAT!: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick blasted his team-leading 14th home run of the season, a leadoff shot in the bottom of the third inning...His 14 home runs are also a single-season franchise record...The 24-year-old also drove in another run, increasing his team-leading total to 58 for the season...He is 11 RBIs shy of matching Thomas Neal's single-season franchise mark of 69...The Texas-native is also the team-leader in extra-base hits (38), runs scored (65), and games played (107)...Kieschnick is 4-for-9 over his last three games with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs scored.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.33 ERA through 109 games and has allowed a league-low 417 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 43 of its 109 games (39%)...Starting pitching has allowed three runs or less in 78 of the team's 109 games (72%) and the club is 54-24 in those contests.

HOME AND AWAY: The Flying Squirrels recently completed a stretch where they played 14 of 20 games on the road...The team went 13-7 over that span including an 8-6 mark on the road...Overall, the club is 23-30 on the road, and is batting .224 and averaging 3.58 runs per game (190R/53G) in 53 road contests...The club is 37-19 overall at home - the best home record in the league - and is batting .263 in 56 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.59 runs per game at home (257R/56G).
