TODAY: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Erie SeaWolves will meet in the finale of a three-game series...Left-hander Clayton Tanner allowed two runs, one earned, in 5 2/3 innings and eight of the nine batters recorded hits in the Flying Squirrels 6-2 win over the SeaWolves on Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd of 9,560 fans at The Diamond.

SWEEP DREAMS?: The Flying Squirrels are seeking their first series sweep of the season in today's finale with the SeaWolves...The last series sweep for Richmond occurred 6/25/10-6/27/10 at Erie...The club swept four series, all three-game sets, in 2010...Richmond has won six of its last seven series dating back to its three-game series against Reading 6/3-6/5...The team is 13-7 over that stretch.
RISING WATER: The Flying Squirrels established a new high-water mark on the season at three games over .500 with last night's win against Erie...The club's high-water mark from last season was nine games over .500 when it was 22-13 on 5/14/10.
LOUISVILLE SLUGGER: Flying Squirrels third baseman Chris Dominguez has hits in each of his last five contests and is 8-for-19 (.421) over that stretch with five doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBIs, and four runs scored...The longest hitting streak of the season for the 24-year-old is 13 games (5/29-6/13) with Advanced-A San Jose...Overall, Dominguez is 9-for-33 (.273) at the plate over his first nine games with Richmond and eight of his nine hits have gone for extra bases including six doubles, a triple, and a home run.
CHARLIE HORSE: Second baseman Charlie Culberson slugged his fifth home run of the season leading off the bottom of the eighth inning last night, his second homer at The Diamond...Four of his five home runs have been hit in June...The 22-year-old is hitting just .178 (16-for-90) in 22 games this month; however, half of his hits have gone for extra bases including three doubles, a triple, and four homers.
THE JOLLY ROGER: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is batting .313 (50-for-160) over his last 42 games with six doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 30 RBIs and 24 runs scored...The 24-year-old has 18 multi-hit games over that span which also includes a season-long eight-game hit streak...He has raised his batting average from .173 to .258 since 5/7.
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.96 ERA through 73 games...The pitching staff has logged a league-high 666 innings of work and has allowed a league-low 258 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 28 of its 73 games (38%)...The club's 2.96 ERA is second of all of the full-season MiLB teams, trailing only the Low-A Burlington Bees (2.95).
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Flying Squirrels have begun a stretch where they will play 21 out of 28 games at home including a doubleheader against Harrisburg 7/9...The club is 24-14 at home and is batting .248 in 38 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.47 runs per game at home (170R/38G)...Overall, the club is 14-21 on the road, and is batting .204 and averaging 3.23 runs per game (113R/35G) in 35 road contests.
