Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
June 25, 2009 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that RHP Tim Dorn has been assigned to the Kernels from the AZL Angels, retroactive to June 24. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Wednesday.
Seattle originally selected Dorn, 26, in the 14th round of the 2003 Free Agent Draft. He played 28 games with Quad Cities in 2007 and spent 2008 with Southern Illinois (IND). He was placed on the DL with a left patella injury.
With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the DL.
The playoff-bound Kernels open the second half of the MWL season tonight at Burlington, beginning an eight game, nine-day road trip that ends in Beloit on July 3rd. The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 4th. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com
