Beloit Sky Carp News Release

A one hour and 47-minute rain delay couldn't hold the Snappers down, as they claimed game two of the four-game set with the LumberKings, 2-1. Reliever Henry Reyes came on after the delay and pitched the final six innings, shutting out Clinton to pick up his first win of the year.

The LumberKings got on the board first in the top of the first inning on a Tim Smith sac-fly to right. Smith's RBI put Clinton up 1-0 after one half inning.

The game was then delayed after the bottom of the third inning, and resumed one hour and 47 minutes later. Beloit's Henry Reyes came on in relief of Steven Hirschfeld and pitching an absolute gem.

Reyes ended up pitching six innings of two hit, scoreless relief. The left-hander also struck out three LumberKings.

The Snappers tied the game up at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning on an Andrew Schmiesing RBI-single through the hole at short. Schmiesing's single plated Mark Dolenc, who earlier singled, from second base.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the ninth, when Rene Leveret would send the fans home happy.

Deibinson Romero reached base with one out on an error from Clinton shortstop Andres James. Romero was then pinch ran for by Beloit newbie Jeanfred Brito.

Brito moved up to second base one batter later, putting himself in scoring position with two outs.

Rene Leveret then stepped to the plate and cracked a game-winning, RBI-single to center field, sending the remained fans into a frenzy.

Mark Dolenc went 1 for 2 with a walk for the Snappers, who improved to 10-4.
