Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Beloit Snappers' clubhouse just got a little more crowded as the Minnesota Twins have shipped infielder Jeanfred Brito to Pohlman Field from the Elizabethton Twins. Brito will join the Snappers in time for tonight's game against the Clinton LumberKings at 7:00pm.
In 11 games this year for E-town, Jeanfred hit .261 with 12 hits and 11 runs scored. Brito also had three doubles, two RBIs and two stolen bases to go along with a .326 slugging percentage.
Signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent in May of 2005, Jeanfred is from El Baul, Cojedes, Venezuela.
Coming into this season, Brito had a career minor league batting average of .282 and on-base percentage of .352. In 2007 he was third in the GCL in runs (20) and fourth in triples (4).
The move, effective today, leaves the Beloit active roster at 24, one below the Midwest League maximum.
