Great Lakes Loons News Release

The Great Lakes Loons, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Dodgers, have announced the addition of Brandon Taylor. In a corresponding move, infielder Joe Becker has been sent to Ogden of the Pioneer League.

Taylor, a third baseman, began this season with St. George Roadrunners of the independent Golden Baseball League, where he hit .411 with 14 home runs and 48 RBIs in 32 games.

He was drafted by the Cubs in the 17th round of the 2005 draft out of Brigham Young University. He spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons as a third baseman, advancing as high as the Peoria Chiefs (Midwest League).

The Cubs then converted Taylor to a pitcher, where he went 2-1 with a 6.15 ERA on the mound in 16 games between the Cubs' Arizona League affiliate and the Boise Hawks of the Northwest League.

The Loons' latest roster is attached.

The Great Lakes Loons are the second-year Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
