TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The fifth of eight meetings and the third of four here. âGades are 2-2 vs. the Titans, 1-1 at home. Alex Matieroukine and Lars Pettersen have five points vs. the Titans. Adam Edinger has five points vs. Richmond. The âGades have three shorthanded goals vs. Trenton. Richmond leads the Northeast Division by a point over Reading and Atlantic City. Trenton is in a fifth place tie with Roanoke in the Northeast with 20 points.
LAST ACTION: The âGades six game winning streak came to an end as Roanoke erupted for three first period goals. Dan Carlson had a goal and assist to lead the Express out of a five game winless streak. The âGades equaled a season low with 21 shots on goal. Lars Pettersen scored for Richmond. The Titans beat Roanoke 6-5 at home Saturday.
âGADES NOTES: The Renegades six game winning streak ended Saturday. It equaled the longest winning streak in the league this season and was one win short of the club record for consecutive wins. Richmond has won six of their last seven games and 11 of their last 14. The âGades have also won six of seven at home. Richmond scored 24 goals in a stretch of three straight home games that ended Friday. The âGades nine goals Friday vs. Augusta is the most scored by Richmond in a game since a nine goal uprising against Greensboro on January 13, 2001 and the most scored in the ECHL this season. The âGades are 5-0 in overtime/shootouts. Richmond was held without a power play goal for the first time in seven games Saturday by Roanoke. The âGades 21 shots on goal vs. the Express equaled a season low. The âGades have allowed a power play goal in four straight games. Lars Pettersen has points in eight straight games. Brad Church has points in five straight games. Jaime Herrington, and Richard Pitirri had four game scoring streaks end Saturday. Jon Zion's three game scoring streak ended Saturday. Marc Magliarditi now has 118 career wins and is sixth in ECHL history. The âGades are in a stretch of 10 of 12 games at home. Milt Mastad was placed on 7-Day IR 11/13 with a hand injury. He was activated yesterday. Dan Lombard's five game winning streak ended Saturday. The âGades play four games in five nights this week and seven games in 12 days staring Wednesday. The âGades play three games in three nights for the fourth time this season this weekend. Richmond has nine three-in-threes on the schedule for the season. Jayme Filipowicz is the first Renegade to earn a call-up this season. He has joined the St. John Flames of the AHL. The Renegades tied an ECHL record Friday in their 9-4 win over Augusta; 15 âGades had at least one point in the game. The âGades are the sixth club in ECHL history to accomplish that. Dan Lombard is sixth in the ECHL in goals against average. The âGades are fifth in the league in penalty killing.
TITANS NOTES: The Titans have won two straight games. The Titans have played just two games in the last nine days. Trenton has four players away on AHL call-ups and four on IR.
