Greenville, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl scored three powerplay goals and beat the Southeast Division-rival South Carolina Stingrays 4-3 in front of 4,115 at the BI-LO Center Wednesday night.

After spotting the Stingrays a 1-0 lead in the first period, CHRIS GUSTAFSON and KRZYSZTOF WIECKOWSKI scored second period powerplay goals to give the Grrrowl a 2-1 lead going into the third. It was Gustafson's first professional goal. MIKE HURLEY and JUDD MEDAK added third period goals for Greenville, while Dave Seitz and Aaron Schneekloth scored for South Carolina in the final frame.

The game-winner from Medak was scored on a rebound, after a flurry in front of goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck, with 3:12 remaining in regulation. The goal snapped a 6-game point-scoring drought for Medak. The Grrrowl were 3 for 12 on the powerplay, and outshot the Stingrays 37-23.

The fifth and final game of this homestand is scheduled for Friday night when the Richmond Renegades invade the BI-LO Center for the first time this season. (7:35 PM, no local radio coverage).
