Blades Acquire Brown From Augusta

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush announced today that forward John Campbell has been traded to the Augusta Lynx for forward Kevin Brown. Brown is currently in his 9th professional season and has played in 64 NHL contests including 11 games with the Everblades NHL parent club Hartford Whalers during the 1996-97 season and 4 games with the Carolina Hurricanes during the 1997-98 season. The Birmingham, England native has a total of 517 professional games played. He was originally selected in the fourth round of the 1992 NHL Entry draft by the Los Angeles Kings. Brown has seen action in 13 games with Augusta so far this season and has tallied one goal and four assists and sixteen penalty minutes. Head coach Gerry Fleming knows Brown will bring a wealth of experience to the Everblades, "Kevin is a highly skilled veteran player that has been a strong offensive force at every level of his career. He is a big power forward and will bring more leadership and scoring to our hockey club."

Campbell saw action in fourteen games while in Florida and registered one assist and twelve penalty minutes.

Florida hosts rival Pee Dee this weekend on Friday and Saturday at TECO Arena. Both games begin at 7:30 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM and NewsRadio 1660 AM with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play by play.
