Reign Loan Parent to St. John's

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced that defenseman Ryan Parent has been loaned to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League after signing a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Parent, 27, had appeared in four games with Ontario this season, recording one assist. The native of Prince Albert, Sasketchewan originally signed with the Reign on Dec. 8.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound rearguard has appeared in 106 games at the NHL level with the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks, accumulating seven points (1g-6a) and 36 penalty minutes. Parent made his professional debut with the Milwaukee Admirals during the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs, and has also posted 26 points (4g-22a) and 229 penalty minutes in 217 career AHL matches.

Parent was a first round selection (#18 overall) of the Nashville Predators in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Friday's game against the Colorado Eagles is a New York Grill Fan Friday. The New York Grill, located at 950 Ontario Mills Drive, invites all Reign fans to come before and/or after all Friday night games. They will stay open late on Friday game nights and provide special "Reign" post-game happy hour with $4 draft beers and $6 select appetizers.
