Reign Drop Game in Las Veags 4-1
December 9, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Ontario Reign News Release
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Ontario Reign (10-9-1-1), proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, lost 4-1 to the Las Vegas Wranglers (14-6-1-3) before 4,611 at Orleans Arena on Friday.
The Wranglers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a short-handed goal at 5:56 of the opening frame as Chris Carrozzi closed his pads on Eric Lampe's backhander, but the puck maintained just enough momentum to get across the goal line. Francois Brisebois tied the game at one with his sixth goal of the season at 9:10. Matt Tassone rifled a shot from the right circle and Brisebois snapped the rebound over Joe Fallon's outstretched leg pad.
After a scoreless second period, Lampe again struck short-handed just 31 seconds into the third to give Las Vegas a 2-1 lead. Lampe, who leads the ECHL with 20 goals, stole the puck in the Reign end and beat Carrozzi on a breakaway. Judd Blackwater scored while the teams skated 4-on-4 and Peter MacArthur added an empty-net goal as time wound down and the Wranglers went on to defeat the Reign 4-1.
Carrozzi (1-4-1) made 25 saves in the loss, while Fallon (11-4-4) stopped 31 for the win.
