TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors begin a three-in-three weekend tonight against the rival Stockton Thunder. The same two teams will meet in Stockton on Saturday and Sunday. It is the second meeting of 13 between the two sides and the second of eight games in Bakersfield. The Condors hold a 27-15-3 record in 45 all-time meetings.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors took a point from the Alaska Aces on Saturday, coming from two goals down in the third period before falling in overtime, 4-3. F Michael Gergen, D Erik Burgdoerfer and C Mathew Sisca each tallied for Bakersfield. F Chris Kushneriuk registered a team season-high three assists.
Stockton comes into Bakersfield with a 3-2-0-0 mark over their last five games. In their last game, the Thunder fell behind 2-0 in Las Vegas and never recovered in a 4-2 loss. F Matt Foy and F Kevin Baker scored for Stockton. Goaltender Olivier Roy shutout the Ontario Reign on Sunday night in a 2-0 victory on the road, making 32 saves.
CONDORS NOTES
G Bryan Pitton has started the last four games for Bakersfield, a season-high for Condors goaltenders... Bakersfield is now 1-3 in overtime games this season and is one of two teams in the ECHL to not appear in a shootout this season... RW Scott Freeman is second in the ECHL amongst rookies with 22 points (10g, 12a)... F Peter Boyd, F Robby Dee, and Freeman lead all ECHL rookies with two shorthanded goals apiece, although Dee's tallies coming as a member of the Florida Everblades... D Alan Goulet returns to the lineup tonight for the first time since Nov. 11, when he left the game injured. He has been on the injured reserve ever since.
THUNDER NOTES
G Olivier Roy is tied for the league lead with two shutouts and is 8th with a 2.37 GAA... Stockton is 7-1-1-0 when scoring first... F Garet Hunt leads the league in major penalties with 11, and is 2nd in the ECHL in penalty minutes with 103... F Kevin Baker leads the league with 102 shots on goal... F Cameron Abney leads all rookies with nine major penalties and 69 penalty minutes.
