Montgomery Makes Second Trip to AHL

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, announced that Mike Montgomery has been called up to the AHL's Houston Aeros This is Montgomery's second stint in the AHL this season, as he previously spent time with the St. John's IceCaps.

Montgomery, 25, signed a standard player contract with the Reign in October of this year for the 2011-12 season. The 6-foot-3-inch defenseman has played in 18 of Ontario's contests this season.

The Lino Lakes, Minnesota native played for the University of Minnesota-Duluth for four years and captained the club during the 2010-11 season when the Bulldogs claimed their first-ever NCAA Championship. In 131 games Montgomery recorded a total of 38 points (4g, 34a) and 42 penalty minutes.
