
Regina Begins Home-And-Home with Moose Jaw at the Brandt Centre

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (11-15-0) host the Moose Jaw Warriors (13-13-3) in game one of a home-and-home at 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre.
The Pats are coming off a 2-1 week, with wins over Medicine Hat (4-2) and Prince Albert (5-2), but are coming off a 4-3 loss in Brandon against the Wheat Kings on Saturday. The Pats went down 3-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game, leading to Matthew Kieper being pulled after allowing three goals on four shots. Drew Sim came in relief and stopped 23 of 24 in the loss. Logan Nijhoff scored for a third straight contest, while Cole Dubinsky scored his first in 12 games and Braxton Whitehead netted his third of the year. The final shots were 31-28 for the Pats, with Regina going 0-for-4 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
The Regina Pats are 5-5 since John Paddock took over as the Head Coach, while they've been outscored 38-to-35 during that time, and outshot in four of those 10 games, with equal shots twice (348 SF / 338 SA).
On the other side, the Moose Jaw Warriors are 3-3-1 over their last seven games, and are coming off a 5-4 overtime loss to Saskatoon, Tuesday at Mosaic Place. The Warriors once trailed 3-1 and 4-2 before tying the game in the third, with Martin Rysavy scoring the tying goal with less than two minutes left on the clock in the third. The shots were 39-30 for Moose Jaw, with both clubs going 0-for-3 on their power plays.

Pats forward Connor Bedard was named to team Canada's World Junior roster on Sunday afternoon, becoming the seventh 16-year-old to do so, joining Wayne Gretzky (1978), Eric Lindros (1989), Jason Spezza (2000), Jay Bouwmeester (2000), Sidney Crosby (2004) and Connor McDavid (2014)...he is also the first Pat' to play for Canada at the World Juniors since Sam Steel (2018)...he is the 24th Pat' all-time to play for Canada at the World Juniors.
The Pats are missing six players heading into action, as Jake Johnson, Zack Smith, Zack Stringer and Luke Bateman are out with injuries while Connor Bedard and Stanislav Svozil are attending the 2021-22 IIHF World Juniors...the Pats have called up D Mitchell McEachern.

34.6: Shooting percentage this season for Pats 16-year-old forward Tanner Howe is first in the WHL (9-for-26)...the Prince Albert, SK native is second among rookies in power play goals (5), sixth in goals (9) and eighth in points (17)...he had his 11 game point-streak come to an end on Saturday (8G-8A-16PTS), which is the third longest point-streak by a rookie this season.
