Today's Game: The RedHawks open a three-game series at home against the Albuquerque Isotopes at 7:05 p.m. The division rivals have split their first eight meetings, but tonight will be the first time the teams have met in Oklahoma City this season.
Last Game: Nashville scored twice in the seventh inning to break a tie and went on to defeat the RedHawks, 5-3, Sunday in the series finale between the teams at Greer Stadium. The loss ended a three-game winning streak for Oklahoma City. The RedHawks led 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Sounds rallied with three-straight run-scoring hits with two outs for a 3-2 lead. A single from Jon Singleton in the fifth tied the game for the RedHawks. Still tied 3-3 in the seventh, Caleb Gindl led off the bottom of the inning with a solo homer against Eric Berger (3-2). A throwing error by catcher Carlos Perez plated another run. Nashville reliever Tim Dillard (1-1) earned the win, marking the 36th victory of his Sounds career and giving him the franchise's career record.
Today's Probable Pitcher: Jarred Cosart starts the series, looking for a fourth-straight quality start...Last time out he threw the second complete game of his career during the first game of a doubleheader against Omaha on June 25. He went a season-high seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits, walking one and struck out four in a 2-0 OKC loss. He allowed five hits in the first inning, then retired 19 of the final 21 hitters he faced...Over his last three starts, Cosart has posted a 1.89 ERA. He has issued just one walk over his last 13 innings, after allowing 20 over his previous 20.1 IP...Cosart leads the PCL with a .200 opponent batting average, ranks fourth with a 3.05 ERA, and is tied for third with seven wins, but he also is third in walks (43)...In addition to wins, Cosart leads the RedHawks with 82.2 innings pitched and 83 strikeouts...Today marks his third start against Albuquerque this season, but first at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. He is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA, and he has struck out 12 batters over 9.1 innings.

Coming into tonight, the RedHawks have won five straight against Albuquerque in Oklahoma City...The RedHawks and Isotopes split their first eight meetings of the season at Isotopes Park (April 20-23 and June 1-4)...Both teams are hitting over .300 against the other (OKC - .306, ALB - .313) and the Isotopes have outscored the RedHawks 56-41...The RedHawks team ERA is 6.35 against Albuquerque but 4.10 against the rest of the PCL...OKC has hit nine home runs over the first eight contests...Last season the Isotopes won nine of the first 12 meetings before the RedHawks ended the season series with a four-game sweep in OKC...Jonathan Villar is batting .429 against Albuquerque pitching and Che-Husan Lin is batting .400 with a .559 on-base percentage.
Jammed at the End of June: With Sunday's loss, the RedHawks' three-game winning streak came to a close and gave Oklahoma City a 14-16 record overall for the month of June. It's just the second losing month the team has had since June, 2011. They set both monthly highs for home runs hit (23) and home runs allowed (30). The RedHawks 8-8 went on the road, finishing .500 or better on the road for the second time in the first three months of the season.
The Laird Up There: Brandon Laird is 10-for-20 with four doubles during his current six-game hitting streak, tying his season best. Yesterday was the first time in five games he was held to just one hit. In June, Laird led the team in home runs (5), runs scored (19), and RBI (14), while tying for the team lead in doubles (8).
Villar Who Villar: Jonathan Villar has hit safely over in each of his last six games, going 10-for-26 with four multi-hit games and four RBI. His .312 average, four home runs, and 11 extra-base hits in June all set personal monthly bests this season. The shortstop leads the league with 27 stolen bases and ranks third with 81 games played.
20/20 Vision: After going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his Triple-A debut Thursday, George Springer has hit safely in each of his last four games, going 5-for-11 with one home run and two RBIs. Between his time with OKC and Double-A Corpus Christi, he has mashed 20 home runs and stolen 24 bases. He is the only player in all of professional baseball this season be a member of the 20/20 club. The only other player relatively close is Carlos Gonzalez of the Colorado Rockies (22 HR/15 SB), and the next-highest stolen base total among players in the minors with 20+ HR is nine (Miguel Sano of AA-New Britain).
Yes Way, Jose: Jose Martinez connected on his first Triple-A home run yesterday with a solo shot in the fourth inning out to left field. It was Martinez's first home run since July 17, 2012 (74 G/233 AB) while playing for Double-A Corpus Christi in a game at Midland. Martinez hit 13 homers in 107 games with the Hooks last season.
Starting Line: Over the last 15 games, the RedHawks starting rotation has posted a 2.36 ERA (24 ER/91.2 IP). In the last 20 games, OKC starting pitchers have allowed one or no earned runs 10 times, with 12 quality starts.
Full of Up-Zeid: Josh Zeid's last six appearances have resulted in one win and five saves. He leads OKC relievers in wins (4) and strikeouts (38). Overall this season, Zeid is 7-for-7 in save opportunities.
Power of Paredes: Yesterday Jimmy Paredes was recalled to Houston to after Justin Maxwell placed on the 7-Day Concussion DL. The RedHawks are 24-17 with Paredes in the lineup this season and 20-22 without him.
Robbie Trying to Regroup: Robbie Grossman went hitless in the Nashville series (0x15) and is now 0 for his last 16 and 1 for his last 20. Since rejoining the RedHawks in late May after a month-long stint with the Astros, Grossman is hitting just .162.
