Green Named PCL Player of the Week

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - River Cats infielder Grant Green has been named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for the week of June 24-30.

During the week, Green hit .480, leading the league with three homers and a 1.460 OPS. Green had multiple hits in five of the six games he played in during the week, upping his average to .322 on the season. His 11 home runs are tied with Michael Choice for the team lead, and his .322 batting average is tops among active River Cats players. This is Green's first weekly award of 2013.

Green, who was named the 2012 Sacramento River Cats Most Valuable Player, finished last season hitting .296 with 15 home runs, 73 runs, 75 RBIs, 13 steals and a .796 OPS in his 125 games played.
