Memphis got off to a hot start, with Rangel Ravelo homering in the first inning and four runs crossing the plate in the second to provide a 5-0 lead after an-inning-and-a-half. Thomas singled home Edmundo Sosa in the second, and Garcia clubbed a three-run shot to give the five-run lead.
Garcia has five home runs in his last four games and seven in the last seven overall.
Las Vegas got two back in the bottom of the third, but Memphis answered right back with two of its own coming on a two-run Kelly single. The two teams traded single runs in the next three half-innings, and Memphis added another tally in the top of the seventh to make the score 9-4.
