Today's Game: The Aces officially won the series last night, but look for the series sweep tonight behind Neftali Feliz. Feliz is coming off his first loss since joining the Reno rotation and holds a 4-2 record over his last 10 games. Ildemaro Vargas enters tonight with a 25-game hit streak that began on 06/24/18 .

Last Game: Jake Buchanan, Jared Miller, and Albert Suarez tossed the Aces second shutout of 2018 last night in game three of the four-game set against Round Rock. Buchanan put the Aces in a great position with his seven-inning, two-hit performance. Offensively, Kevin Cron and Ildemaro Vargas led the way finishing with seven combined hits. Cron finished tied with a career-best five hits and Vargas extended his hit streak to 25 games. The 8-0 win puts the Aces above the .500 mark with a record of 54-53 with one game left on the road trip.

Streaking: Ildemaro Vargas has hit in 25 consecutive games, good for the longest hit streak in the Pacific Coast League. During the streak, he is batting .387, (43-for-111), with 19 runs scored, 10 doubles, 11 RBI and an OBP of .443. There have only been five players in Aces history with streaks of 20+ games. Jake Elmore (31, 2012), Ildemaro Vargas (25, 2018), Tony Abreu (24, 2011), Chris Owings (23, 2013), and Ketel Marte (22, 2017). In 2017, Ketel Marte went 37-for-98, .378, with nine 2B, three 3B, one HR and 16 RBI from April 29 through May 22.

Chasing 400: Ildemaro Vargas' two-hit performance last night moved him into sole possession of second place in Aces franchise history with 344 total hits. Only Cole Gillespie had more in an Aces uniform with 399.

Shutout: Last night's shutout victory was the 50th in Aces franchise history. Reno entered this four-game series in Round Rock as one of just two teams who had not blanked their opponents this season. Their first came in Friday night's 3-0 victory behind dominant performances by Taylor Clarke and Silvino Bracho. Last night's win was behind seven two-hit innings by starter Jake Buchanan.

Baseball Family: The Cron family had quite the sunday afternoon. C.J. Cron, first baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays, went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Sunday in the 11-5 loss to Baltimore. Cron struck in the second and fourth innings with solo blasts, but the Orioles would cruise to an 11-5 victory in the series finale. He's gone 8-for-34 (.235) with four homers and six RBI over his last 10 games. Just hours later, Kevin turned in a 5-for-5 performance in Round Rock. Kevin Cron's five-hit night tied an all-time best previously set on August 17, 2015. In 2018, he's is batting .331 with 18 home runs, 77 RBI and 41 runs scored in just 72 games played.
