Aces Sweep Round Rock, Return to Greater Nevada Field Wednesday

Round Rock, TX. - Reno completed the four-game series sweep of the Round Rock Express on Monday night. The Aces strung together three runs on nine hits and were led by 2018 Pacific Coast League All-Star Socrates Brito. Brito went 2-for-4 with three RBI before being ejected from the contest in the top of the 9th inning. Starter Neftali Feliz went six innings and allowed two runs on five hits with five strikeouts. The win improves Feliz to 4-1 as a starter and puts the Aces two games above .500 for the first time since April 6th and is their second series sweep of the month.

The Aces got into the scoring column in the top of the third inning. Back-to-back singles by Walker and Kevin Cron got the inning off to a good start against Round Rock right-hander Adrian Sampson. Socrates Brito drove in both with a triple off the right-center field wall. Feliz got tagged for one run in the fourth and fifth innings, but left with a 3-2 lead. Socrates Brito drove in the Aces third and final run in with an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning, his 23rd double of the season. The combination of Joey Krehbiel, Braden Shipley and Jimmie Sherfy closed out the ballgame (3.0 IP, 2 H, 3 K, 0 ER). Sherfy picked up save number 14 of the season.

Streaking: Ildemaro Vargas has hit in 26 consecutive games, good for the longest hit streak in the Pacific Coast League. During the streak, he is batting .382, (44-for-115), with 19 runs scored, 10 doubles, 11 RBI and an OBP of .440. There have only been five players in Aces history with streaks of 20+ games. Jake Elmore (31, 2012), Ildemaro Vargas (25, 2018), Tony Abreu (24, 2011), Chris Owings (23, 2013), and Ketel Marte (22, 2017).
